Sitting all day? Small habits that can help your legs feel better

Sitting all day? Small habits that can help your legs feel better

Desk days can pass without you noticing how long you have been sitting.

By late afternoon, your legs may feel heavier, puffier or simply less comfortable. Long periods in the same position can contribute to that feeling.

Break up long stretches of sitting

You do not need to turn every workday into a workout.

Look for small opportunities to stand, walk or simply change position — refill your water, walk while taking a call or take a short movement break between tasks.

Even small amounts of activity help break up sedentary time.

Keep your feet and ankles moving

Sometimes getting up is not practical.

Gently bending and straightening your feet and toes, or moving your ankles while seated, can help you avoid remaining completely still for long stretches. Similar movements are recommended during long periods of seated travel.

Notice which days ask more of your legs

A long meeting day, a commute or several hours at a desk can feel very different from a more active day.

Recognizing those patterns makes it easier to build movement into the parts of your routine where you need it most.

Where compression fits

Movement still matters. Graduated compression can be another form of everyday support on longer, more sedentary days.

Comfylegs uses 15–21 mmHg graduated compression, designed to provide more pressure lower on the leg and gradually less higher up.

Sudden or unexplained swelling — especially swelling, pain, warmth or color change in one leg — should be assessed by a healthcare professional.
